Falcons
The sculpture is an arrangement of 132 columns placed in a dune landscape that has been covered with grass and which elevates the sculpture above the surrounding landscape. As you move around the site, six images of falcons taking flight come into focus at various points and then fragment again.
The sculpture is an iconic celebration of the symbolic value of falconry to the region and Bedouin culture.
The columns were fabricated in units, in South Africa and assembled on site.
